ORTHODONTICS

Dr. Aisha M Hussain, D.D.S., ANDB certified, MSc Dentistry (Orthodontics) currently work with Al Lulu Medical Center in Sharjah ( Located on Al Arouba Street, Between Atlas Mall and Lulu Center- Tel: 06-5646252) .

Most people seek orthodontic treatment as a means to achieving a beautiful smile. In addition to improving esthetics however, aligning crooked or protruding teeth plays an important role in maintaining their health and function. For children who are still growing, orthodontics may also help improve any discrepancies in their jaw relationship.

The Orthodontic department at Al Lulu Medical Center offers a wide range of treatment options to suit individual patient needs, for both children and adults.
These include:
 1) Functional appliances  For growing children who require jaw relationship correction/skeletal growth modification.
2) Removable appliances  For correction of minor displacements in tooth position.
 3) Fixed appliance treatment  To correct irregularities in tooth position including crowding, spacing and rotations. Stainless steel, ceramic (clear) and self ligating brackets are available.
4) Clear aligners  For patients for whom aesthetics are a priority, aligners offer a solution for treating tooth irregularities without the need to place steel brackets.  Depending on the problem, one to two years are usually necessary to complete orthodontic treatment. During this time, patients will need to come to the clinic every four to six weeks for follow up appointments.  After the teeth have been straightened and the patient is happy with their smile, the braces will be removed and replaced by a retainer. The function of a retainer is to hold the teeth in place until they are stable in their new position. A retainer comes in many forms; it may be removable or cemented to the back side of teeth where it cannot be seen. It may be made of acrylic, plastic or stainless steel. The orthodontist will advise the patient about the type of retainer best suited for their case. Removable retainers have to be worn for a minimum of one year.  First time consultation with theorthodontist is free. Patients are welcome to visit and discuss their need for orthodontic treatment, its benefits, optimum timing and treatment options.

Clinic Timings: Saturday – Thursday, 12.00 until 8.30pm. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 06-5646252
